The traditional holiday of Dano is celebrated throughout Korea on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which was thought to be the peak time for yang energy. Records of events taking place on Dano go right back to the Three Kingdoms (Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla) period, which ended around 668.
